This Tea Bowl is wheel thrown porcelain with a cut rim, creating soft undulating movement. A strong foot is trimmed into each pot giving a comfortable lift off the table. The interior and exterior is glazed with food safe glaze made from wild clay. The exterior reacts with the soda fire atmosphere, developing a glassy and matte soda glaze while recording the flame’s path through the kiln at 2250 degrees. Non-glassy textures are sanded with fine grit diamond pads post firing giving a luscious texture to the matt clay surface.
